Dear Parent/ Guardian,

As part of the graduation requirements to earn a high school diploma from Canton Harbor High and the State of Ohio, students have to take the following End-of-Course (EOC) Exams and earn a total of 18 graduation points between them:

  • English I
  • English II
  • Algebra I
  • Geometry
  • Biology
  • American History
  • American Government

Throughout the course of the year, there are two administration windows to complete the EOC Exams. The first of the testing administration windows will take place from December 10, 2018 through December 21, 2018. The December administration window is set up to allow students an opportunity to re-take any EOC Exams that they wish to improve their score, or to make up an exam that may have been missed in the past. During the December test administration window, Canton Harbor High School will be implementing a modified schedule on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (6 total days) between December 10, 2018 and December 21, 2018. The testing schedule is as follows:

Mondays- December 10 & 17: ALL STUDENTS REPORT AS NORMAL

Tuesdays- December 11 & 18: EOC Students Report at 8:38a; Non-EOC Students Report at 10:45a

Wednesdays- December 12 & 19: EOC Students Report at 8:38a; Non-EOC Students Report at 10:45a

Thursdays- December 13 & 20: EOC Students Report at 8:38a; Non-EOC Students Report at 10:45a

Fridays- December 14 & 21: ALL STUDENTS REPORT AS NORMAL

Students will be given testing information and their report time during Homeroom prior to the testing administration window. Our students have been encouraged to share this information with their parent(s) and/or guardian(s). If you have any other questions please feel free to contact our Testing Coordinator, Mrs. Perrine. Thank you!

-Growth-

Challenging our students to grow academically and personally

Preparing students to be confident in taking the next step in life

How the Program Works:

  • State standards (skills required by the state) are broken down into competencies (topics) for each subject.
  • Focuses on the common core requirements: Math (4 credits) , Social Studies (3 credits), Language Arts (4 credits), Science (3 Credits) and CBI. The same skills and curriculum are being taught, just in a shorter time frame!
  • You can enter with zero credits and earn all graduation requirements within 3 years! (This is based upon good attendance and hard work). However, we do accept credits earned from previous schools so your work will not go unaccounted for!
  • In some classes, each half of a year (semester) is equal to 1 full credit at other schools. This varies depending on subject.
  • Your Graduation Plans will list the competency/skill required for each class and your progress towards completing them. Completion of all the competencies equals graduation!
  • Canton Harbor High School  is a proud participant in the Child Find Program which helps identify, locate, and provide special services for students who may be in need.

We specialize in working with under privileged students to give them the chance that they need to achieve a successful future! Schedule an enrollment appointment today!

At the close of the 2017-2018 school year, Canton Harbor did not have any incidence of harassment and/or bullying. Thank you for a great year. We will see you in August!

Canton Harbor High School's Board of Education Executive Committee meetings have been moved from the first Tuesday of every month to the thrid Wednesday of each month preceeding the regularly scheduled board meeting. Executive Commttee meetings will start at 4:30 p.m. in room 304.

Thanks to a partnership established by Canton Harbor High School's sponsor, the Ohio Council of Community Schools, CHHS was able to take a group of students to the Canton Charge baskeball game on March 13, 2018. Canton Harbor used the partnership as a reward for the students who have earned an average attendance rate 75% or above. CHHS is pleased to annouce that 62 of the currently enrolled students were eligible to attend the event. This was a great experience for those that were able to attend.

Canton Harbor is proud to annouce that there have been 0 incidences of harassment or bullying during the first half of the school year, August 2017 through December 2017.

#CantonHarbor @ #CantonCharge

Canton Harbor will be rewarding our students by taking a select group to the Canton Charge vs Lakeland game on Tuesday, March 13, 2018.

Parents and/or guardians can set up an appointment with Mr. Kaufman to talk about our program in more detail and/or enroll.

Upon arrival, they should have with them the following: child's birth certificate, child's social security card, and one form of proof of residency, i.e. apartment/rental lease statement, mortgage statement, bank statement, electric bill, gas bill, cable/satellite bill.

The enrollment process usually takes about 30 minutes. Credits from previous schools do transfer. Please make sure all fees are paid at former school in order for us to obtain official transcripts. Transcripts usually take about a week to get to us. Once we have the transcripts, we will put an individual plan together for the child.
